This and That on a Thursday

Going After Cacciato
The Black Echo (Harry Bosch)I hope you will read my review of Michael Connelly's The Black Echo on the War Through the Generations blog hosted by Serena Agusto-Cox (Savvy Verse and Wit) and Anna Horner (Diary of an Eccentric). 2010 has been dedicated to books related to the Viet Nam War. I am also linking to an earlier review of Tim O'Brien's Going After Cacciato.

With Halloween coming up on Sunday, Austen Authors has a series of posts from our renowned authors about vampires, Frankenstein, zombies, and lots of good stuff to get you in the mood for the eve of All Saint's Day. We will also have a special guest visiting the site. Ben Winters, author of Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, will have a  post on Friday, October 29th. You won't want to miss that.

Also, Laurel Ann at Austenprose continues the conversation about Jane Austen needing an editor--no fence sitting on this one.

Last, and most definitely not least, Vic at Jane Austen's World is celebrating her site surpassing 2,000,000 hits. Yes, that's six zeroes. To celebrate, she is having a giveaway: "By way of thanks, I am offering a book entitled Fashion: A History from the 18th to the 19th Century by Taschen, which features costumes from the incomparable Kyoto Costume Institute."
